Title VI Discrimination in Education (Race)

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act makes it illegal for primary and secondary schools (K-12); post-secondary educational institutions (colleges and universities); and other schools to discriminate, harass, or retaliate against an individual because of race.

Title VI Services

My law practice includes representing students and employees though Title VI administrative proceedings at the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), including early complaint resolution or mediation. I also represent students and employees at the trial and appellate court levels regarding Title VI discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.

I have represented students who have been racially harassed or discriminated against at the elementary school, middle school, high school, university, and vocational school levels regarding issues such as discrimination in academics, access to academics, athletics, and discipline issues.

I have also represented parents and teachers who have been retaliated against for complaining about race discrimination in the provision of education.
